Following my astounding success with the Gingko Biloba trees, I have now sprouted some seeds I collected from a Pink Siris tree while I was on holiday. I don't know much about these: what soil they need, do they need a lot of sun and can they tolerate very cold winters? I guess they like hot summers as there were lots of them growing quite happily in the south of France.

Pink Siris, is another common name for the Pink Mimosa, or Persian Silk Tree (Albizzia julibrissin), a deciduous tree in the Pea Family (Fabaceae), native to much of southern and eastern Asia, as well as Japan and Taiwan. Albizzia julibrissin are remarkably cold hardy trees that grown well in USDA Zones 6 and up. USDA Zone 6 is rated to have winter low temperatures down to -10ºF/-23ºC.
