Hello!

I have these old apple trees in my backyard and I’m not sure what’s wrong with their barks. Is it some kind of injury? Or a scar from a previous illness?
Would be really grateful for some advice ❤️

Those are old trees with old splits, likely caused when they were young. The split is in the trunk, not the bark. The splits were likely caused by sudden changes in spring weather--warm to cold, or the opposite, called "frost cracks" when the weather is very cold and then warms rapidly, causing the trunk to crack.
This is not really a problem, considering the age and condition of the trees. They have handled the cracks on their own. Just enjoy the old trees, and any apples they give you!
