we just planted roses for the first time. There are not a lot of blooms on them right now, but they are still little. What I'm wondering is, how can you tell when a flower will pop up. Just wondering!
I'm sure that it won't take long. Some of the stems will grow bigger and bigger and then you'll notice tiny buds at the top of them
Remember to cut off withered flowers. Also, roses usually produce more flowers when you prune them regularly.
If you haven't already get a good rose specific fertilizer for them and make sure you mulch around the base of the plants. Once the blooms have come and gone cut the dead stuff off and give them a dose of the the plant food. Roses will bloom all summer if you allow them to bloom and then rest.
