I have finally chosen to spend the money to purchase a weeping cheery tree. However, I have read that they do or do not need a lot of sun. My tree would get sun but not lots daily. If any of you have a weeping cherry tree, please let me know its position and how much sun it gets. The size I want is 4 years old, so not inexpensive. Please advise me if you can.

Many sincere thanks.

Greetings, welcome to the Forums.

A weeping Japanese Cherry (Prunus serrulata cv., likely trunk-grafted) should get at least half a day of sun at minimum, more would be preferred. Water regularly, but soil should be well-draining. It is best planted on a low mound to keep the crown elevated. Mulch around the tree with rich compost. Prune to maintain shape.
