As @oneeye posted the Eastern Redbud would work well. Also, if your soil isn't too acidic crepe myrtles do fine. Magnolias also do great there and they come in all sorts of sizes. Although a bush type plant gardenias have a long lifespan and will get as tall as a small tree. Just check with your local nursery or county extension agent for what grows well there.
