I'm a very impatient person so waiting for these melons has been absolute torture.
I chose to harvest two today and see how it went. I utilized all tips for harvesting watermelons- dried tendril, dried spoon leaf, the sound... the larger melon was first to start growing, tendril was dried, sounded deep and hollow... but wasnt quite ripe. Was just a little pink, definitely could have used more time. The second I cut today was a surprise to me; its smaller and started growing almost 2 weeks after the first... but the tendril was dry, leaf dry, sounded very deep; It was near perfectly ripe!
