Watermelon issues

I was looking at my watermelon plant it seems very healthy I discovered this on the stem though seems concerning anyone know what this is?

IMO it is a little early to make a positive identification of the problem but it sure looks like early stage Gummy Stem Rot. Are the leaves showing any sign of something wrong?

From what i remember there was a little bit of discoloration on the plants leaves is there anything I can do to remedy this? Or is the plant doomed

Not being there to actually see the plant, my advice is for you to google Gummy Stem Rot in Watermelons for information as to treatment. Having said this, this early in the growing season, I would pull the plant and start over.
