My verbena plant got infested with white flies which I realised pretty late when the leaves started looking weird.I sprayed the plant with neem oil which didn’t help and then with some stronger insecticide which killed most of the pests but a few were still alive and flying about.I have cut off the main parts of the plant hoping this will save it.

How long would it take for new growth to develop in this stage?

Please help me out with some guidance!

Oh dear, you didn`t leave much did you. Keep it damp and it will probably make some new growth in a week or two, but as it is an annual it would be a bit late in the year now - that`s if you were in the UK.......not sure how this would work out where you live  If you have more trouble with white flies, or any aphids, all you need to spray with is wash up soapy water - that`ll get rid of them.

Thank you for replying. What kind of soap should I be using?Won’t soapy water cause fungus on the plants?

No it will not hurt the plants at all. You just need a little washing up dish soap and it needs to go in a spray bottle and if you squirt that on the aphids it will get rid of them. At the moment though it seems you have nothing left to squirt on.
In future if your annual plants get a bit straggly, you can cut them back by about half and they will thicken up nicely, although I think you have been a bit drastic with those Verbena.
