I have a lot of green passionfruit left on the vine and the season is over. Does anyone have any tricks to ripen them. I have picked a few to watch but it doesn't seem to be working. Deb

I am not sure if this will work for passionfruit, but you could try to put it in your rice container. When I bought an unripened mango or bananas, my mom told me to put them in our rice container, and after a few days they will all be ripened perfectly.

You could try putting them with bananas - they release a hormone which helps ripen other fruit.

Passion fruit are totally useless as a food. The fruit is insipid and has no merit at all. However, the flower is most intricate in structure and is most beautiful.

Thanks Becky. I have set up. Deb
Hi again Becky. I want to ask you a how to question on posting a poll. after the question it asks for 2 possible responses. I really don't understand what I'm meant to put in there if I'm asking the question. I'm sure there'll be a simple explanation but I'm a bit slow on this stuff.

You don't have to post a poll unless you want to - when you are posting any regular query it would not be required. If you did want to use a poll, then it brings up the question at the top of the page before your post, so that people can cast their vote on the options you have given.

Here's an example of a topic with a poll: Your preferred bed edging poll

Hi Durgen. I couldn't agree more about the passionfruit flower but I also love the fruit. Each to his own I guess.

I've been given another method to try to ripen green passionfruit.....wrap them in newspaper and put in a dark place. Apparently it works with avocados. This advice comes from Sebastion's mum....a lovely young man from Argentina who owns the local nursery here with his Australian wife.
