I have a maple tree about 35’ tall. It has 4 small maples growing from the base of the trunk. They range from 4”-10” in diameter. Can I cut them down without killing the main tree and do I treat the stump where the trees are removed with anything? Thank you

Its ok to remove all the suckers growing out from the roots of the maple. No need to treat the stumps, but if you see new suckers just snip them when they regrow. Be careful and use safety glasses and gloves and watch out for your toes.
