Just wondering the best time of year to transplant apple trees, if possible? I have a few I planted about 2 years ago. They are not very big, whips with a few small branches. They have buds right now but no leaves so I am thinking this might be a good time? I have never transplanted trees that were already in the ground and not in containers. I'm not sure if it would be too much shock to them before they have leaves.

Not now. Wait until the tree is dormant, this fall or winter
Thanks for the info, I will do it this fall. Winter's are harsh here and the ground freezes solid so I'll have to do it early fall
