On the subject of cookies I clear mine daily apart from a few dozen that include passwords.

Every naffin' site you visit will stick a cookie on your computer, some expire but a lot don't.
Some people may have hundreds, maybe thousands on their computer.

I use Firefox

For those who use it and don't know how to check what's on their computer.

Click on the three horizontsl bars at the extreme top right hand corner of the screen (below the "X").

Click on "Options"

Then click on "Privacy and Security."

Scroll down 'til you come to "Cookies and Site Data."

Click on "Manage Data."

A menu will come up listing all your cookies.

Scroll down it and click on any you think you don't need.

It will get highlighted then click on "Remove selected."

Don't click on "Remove all" You'll end up losing ones you want to save which store passwords for particular sites.

When you've clicked on all you want to lose, click on "Save Changes"

I've just cleared those for Wiki, (four) and several retail sites I've just looked at today.

I found out what was causing the tool bar to not work and the box to change to green.
The second line of the tools in the tool bar, the roundish one at the end. I pressed it by mistake and it turned orange. It happened again today, asked hubby about it because he was in IT when he was working, and that's what happened. Thanks all of you for your help.:)

When you get an unsolicited e-mail. I've just had two for weight loss an tinnitus.

When you click on "Unsubscribe" and put in your e-mail.

"Safe unsubscribing.com," puts a naffin' cookie on your computer.
I think that may be a way of recording what you've declined and therefore, triggering what you'll next be sent.
