This post is just a heads-up to be vigilant for tomato pin worms and tomato fruit worms. In the past I have had them but not to this extent and not at the same time. And strangely enough have not seen but 2 hornworms all season. I have sprayed Bt numerous times but the damage continues. I estimate a 15%-20% loss. To all tomato growers. If you see any little holes in the leaves or on the shoulder of your fruit start spraying

Yep, the stinkbugs started here nearly 2 weeks ago. Just one or two at first but now I see them in groups of 5 or 6. Makes it easier to kill them when the're all bunched up.

Pin worms, horn worms, stinkbugs, fruit worms. I wonder how long before some idiot manages to introduce them here, I thought lily beetles were bad enough when they turned up. We are blessed to be an island without all sorts of animal diseases

Stinky bugs (Shield bugs) are already here and numbers growing Oliver. Nowhere near the numbers in Europe I saw, but I worry for tomato growers in the UK going forward.

I quit worrying about all that so I could worry about remembering to spray every week. Call it the essence of gardening if you want to, its fair.

For me, living in New England, the biggest Tomato issue is the blights. Early/Late Blight can and will decimate my Tomato crops. There is no cure and the "alleged" resistant varieties are not. Fungicides like Copper Sulfate and/or Bordeaux Mix are of some limited use. Even with good cultivation practice involving removing diseased plants and using mulch to reduce spores getting onto the plants there is little chance of really keeping the problem at bay.

We have very limited late blight in Texas but rampant early blight. As you stated, there is no cure but we have managed to work around it and have full harvests.
