I've grown tomatoes this way for over 10 years and I don't think I've ever had this kind of problem before. So, I'm seeing dark brown on edges of leaves, and it dries out and the edges get crunchy. This seems to affect new growth as well. The tips and edges of leaves are drying out - I really hope it's not bacterial canker or something really bad. it doesn't appear to be that bad, I have seen some spots in the middle of the leaves, but it's really only affecting the edges and tips of leaves. I added in the planting hole, slow re-lease fertilizer called Trifecta+ at time of planting, and a a very small handful of blood meal and bone meal like I do every year. I did add about 8 bags of compost and cow manure and I've used this brand before called Timberline, and I mixed that in the first 2-3" or so. Could this be fertilizer burn or early blight or something worse? I'm confused on what it is - it doesn't really match anything that I see online. They look fairly heathy otherwise. We have got loads of rain this spring and thunderstorms where we got 2" of rain in 2 hours. They have been out since April 22nd in Walls of Water and seems every plant has this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's been fairly clouded but we did have an almost 85 degree day with a lot of sun also not too long ago and now it's cloudy again.

Too much water can cause this damage. I have had it myself on numerous occasions and the plant has always out grown it. What does the new foliage look like?

The new foliage looks fairly okay, but it still has a bit of dry edges on some of the leaves. Brand new growth like suckers etc appear to look fine. I usually remove a foot of growth from the soil level up so soil doesn't splash up, but was a bit behind this year and the WOWs make it more humid and contribute to fungal issues I would think. Does appear to be worse the lower you go, but still similar.

I am pretty sure it is a watering issue, probably too much water. Fungal issues usually appear as spots and sometimes yellowing. If the color of the plants were a much darker green and/or you had leaf curl on the new foliage I would suspect too much fertilizer but your plant shows none of this. I wouldn't worry about it unless the new growth starts showing other than normal growth.

Thanks for the reply Chuck! Only ones curly really are the brandywine and my purple potato leaf but it’s not bad really at all.
