This is the grave of Georgie Markov, murdered by the secret police using a poisoned tipped umbrella. Feel a conection here as they killed him on my 16th birthday.

There's a small allotment next to the churchyard :)

I replastered these window reveals after some water damage about 20 years ago.

Also helped re decorate the chancel.

The Shrine of Saint Witt, apparently if you've had your arm cut off, put the stump in one of the holes and you'll grow a new one :)

You've got some fantastic shots there! The first one almost looks like an oil painting (y)

Really nice @zigs do you know when this church dates back to?

It was rebuilt in the 12th century, but nothing remains of the earlier church, probably as the saxons tended to build out of wood.

I've only worked on one stone built saxon church.

 zigs, you take such pretty pictures!! The first one is my favorite. The clouds in the background really set it off nicely. That one needs blown up and framed.

Great video! I like all the old churches. I see that they look like a fortress. If I am not mistaken, the 12th century was a time of feudal conflict. Perhaps in the past people have been very practical. Perhaps they were hoping for God to defend against enemy attack, but they did not forget about the benefits of solid rock for shelter and defense.
