I love old Dorset churches :)

Seeing all your photos makes me realise I really need to get out with my camera more!

Zigs, your church tour is fascinating! All those lovely old buildings, and the peaceful graveyards surrounded by the green countryside--evocative.
A short aside--there is an older church up the road from us, with burials from the late 1800's to the present. One of the parishioners got the bright idea that all the gravestones ought to be standing absolutely upright, and he got the congregation to hire equipment to "reset" the stones. Half the charm of the old gravestones was gone. It will come back, since the ground around here shifts, and nothing stays upright for long!

Glad you like em MG :)

Not many flowers to photograph at the moment so I thought i'd do a few churches :)

Sounds a bit like West Bay then, most of the walls and telegraph poles are leaning :D

If the headstones are lucky enough to lean forward then the lettering escapes the weather. Most of the upright ones over 2 centuries have lost the epitaphs off them :(
