Thank you for sharing. That does look like a convenient method for germinating edible sprouts.
I encourage anyone sprouting seeds for food to use clean water, change it often, (perhaps switch to a new towel every day) and only make enough for immediate consumption. Raw sprouts can breed dangerous bacgteri,. Cooin sprouts is safer than eating them raw, but of course, raw sprouts are sometimes what is preferred for the dish being prepared.

We were doing this in the 60s and 70s, just took a large empty coffee jar or similar put some mung bean seed in with some warm water, tied a piece of muslin over the top, drained the water out after an hour or so and put in the airing cupboard. roll on a daily basis and harvest when ready. Tupperware sold seed sprouters. Blotting paper works well instead of towell.
