Tips for more strawberry yield?

We have to move the plants that we planted where our blackberry & raspberry bushes are (Live & learn!)
But we also have one of those rolling self-watering planters with only strawberry plants. We did not get much of a yield from them.
What can we do to get more berries?

I was watching the following youtube channel a month ago and they had a huge strawberry harvest. I think they use cow manure from their cow and place straw around the strawberries.

Normally the straw around strawberries is to keep them up off the ground so they stay clean and don't get attacked by slugs or disease. Farmers round here burn the straw off after harvest.
