Tips and advice

Hi there I'm starting a small vegetable garden and everything except tomatoes and peppers will be from seeds but I have not had a vegetable garden before any tips or advice on have to have a nice looking and healthy garden

Keep it small at first until you learn how to grow. Can you post a photo of the grow area you plan on gardening in.

Grab as shovel or a fork and turn the soil about 10 inches deep. Then you could add some amendments to help improve drainage. Since your garden will be small you could buy some compost in the bags and save some time. After turning the soil add the amendments and turn the soil again with the shovel. Lot of work, but its worth it in the end. Plus so much fun to work in the garden outside. Good luck

Compost and composted manure are great additions to the soil for tomatoes and lots of other plants. Compost adds basic nutrients and improves soil structure. Composted manure provides nutrients all season long. This provides a slow release of nutrients over the growing season.
