Tall plants growing next to a medium sized tree

Hi All,

I just moved into a new place and noticed some tall plants are growing very close to a tree (see image).

Is this normal & okay for the big tree?
Or should I remove these and use the ground for less invasive looking plants?

Welcome @mermaid21c . I agree, your tree will take care of itself very well, and will need the company of tough plants to survive the roots it will have under there!
