Taking care of bulbs

Since I was a child I have always been very fond of crocus and daffodils. My grandmother used to plant them around her house, and whenever I saw their beautiful flowers emerging, I knew the long and dark winter months were finally coming to an end. Another favourite of mine are Snowflakes, even just thinking of those flowers makes me feel up-lifted .
I wonder what is the best way to take care of bulbs after they bloom?

We just leave our daffodil bulbs out in the yard all year round. Some people would say that we're doing it wrong, and they may be right--but we get big, beautiful blooms every year, so we have no reason to do anything differently.
