Sunchokes?

This fall will be the first time I harvest sunchokes. Anyone else grow them here?

I planted some too late last year, but they are coming back this year. Hopefully I will be able to get a taste of them this year.

Any tips for growing them successfully? What do they taste like?

So far my experience is that they are very easy to grow. Essentially they are weeds.

The taste is a cross between an artichoke heart and a potato. They are delicious and rival potatoes in caloric density.

One thing to always remember with them is that they are invasive. Easy to grow but can be difficult to contain.
