This salvia is a bit past its best but is still a stunner,. Purple and black large flowers, panicles or whatever the proper term is . Hopefully someone can help name it. It is quite woody so I think that means I cut it back by a third, not to the ground like the other types of salvias. Looking forward to your input:)

I think it's Salvia Amistad. They will certainly be very happy your way! The fetch about £8 here in the UK! You can easily propagate them and sell them outside your house and people would buy them!

You are in luck!

The very man himself William Dyson who is a big specialist breeder of salvia giving US a tutorial! Hurrah!

He has a pink one named after himself. Dyson's Joy which I posted a few days ago on my thread.

Thank you alp. I checked it out and I'm sure you're right. And thanks forthe video. Very helpful. I could only find a Salmon Pink Dyson Salvia, very pretty colour

I couldn't believe my ears - the video is a torture as it's sooooo noisy. But he is the doyen - Salvia king in the UK!
