After years of growing strawberries in plastic troughs (which produced poor crops) I invested in wooden raised beds and bought all new plants. They looked fantastic come the start of the season. BUT the fruits have all developed grey mould. Some were perfectly OK but the majority badly affected. Maybe I planted too closely - which can be sorted if I transplant. But I read that this fungus remains in the plant unless "something" is done about it.

Is there any way I can resolve this without buying all new plants - but worse, replacing all the compost in the beds?
