Spent grain and hops in compost

have been given 40kg of spent grain and hops from local brewery was just going to add as a soil improver and some to compost would the grain and hops count as the green part of my compost like grass cuttings or brown part like cardboard or dead leafs ?

Yep like cooked food. The sugars have been converted to alchohol to some degree so it is not as green as it once was.
