Hello all. I have noticed over the past few days that a flying insect is cutting big chunks from my vine. I didn’t get a picture of the insect but this is what it is doing...

I caught the insect in the act and it cuts the leaf very fast and flies away with it. Does anybody know what it is and how I could get rid of it? Thankyou!

Don`t be too harsh, I think this is the work of a leaf cutting bee. I would allow it to take what it needs as it will be so good pollinating your plants, and the leaves will re grow. Sometimes it is best to work WITH nature.

Thankyou Tetters! If it’s good at pollinating then yes I will leave him to do his thing!

Yes, I concur. The photo in the OP shows the work of Leaf-cutting Bees (Megachilinae, Megachilidae, Hymenoptera).
Leaf-cutting Bees cut off disc-shaped pieces of leaf to use as building material for their egg chambers.
