Hello members!

I am currently working on a setup for a irrigation system. I have a pressurized supply tank that is connected to the irrigation pipes. I want to control the supply line but I am not sure if I should use a solenoid or a ball valve? Does somebody have some experience on this subject?

Thanks in advance!

So a automatic system uses the electric valve and the manual system uses the ball valve, gate valve type. Winter freezing is hard on valves, and replacing the seals as they age out is important too.

Ask them. I had to upgrade my valves post failure. It was not that the design failed, as I drain my system in winter, it was that I forgot to drain one year, and learned to overbuild it for my own ease instead of risking emergency.
