My Angel Face came back from hard winter, at least half of the print did, and it has been blooming nicely. In the last few days, new growth is showing up distorted. I have looked for insects but not found any. Any idea what might cause this?

I'm wondering if this could be the start of rose rosette disease. I suggest removing every leaf, stem and bud that looks diseased and see if it recovers normally.

Would you post a picture of the whole rose please?

We have had lots of rain, and hail in some places. I did not find any hail damage on any other plants, so I don't think that is the culprit. I have attached a better photo of the whole plant, and I cut off the distorted leaves. I guess I need to check new growth to see if it is normal.

That looks better. Having had a lot of rain it may be the rose needs feeding. As it's in a planter excessive water will flush nutrients from the soil.

Was gonna say hungry. I see some spot down low so a 3-n-1 could help. I have used Cleary's 3336F (flowable) and it keeps spot at bay for maybe a year once you get it cleared up.

Well, I pruned off dead leaves and branches, then fed with 3-in-1 food insect and disease control. Took out some of the annuals planted around it, thinking that they might be stealing nutrients, and moved it to be in less sunlight. It probably just wanted attention...
