The mother is pretty dead at this point, and it has two pups. They are almost as big as the mother. Last time I had a bromeliad with pups, I tried removing them like it says on the internet, but they didn't live. Can I just cut the mother off at the base? Will the pups survive this way? Can I then divide them easily after doing this?

I think cutting the mother off would work just fine.. That way none of the pups little root systems are getting messed with.. Though, I've never had luck keeping pups alive either always worth a try, keep us updated!
