thanks for the link. I do like them. should eat them more than I do. wonder what the comparison is to them and tuna fish. both can be sandwich type ---where I am going. thinking about work lunch etc.

I don't eat a lot of meat, but do find a can of sardines make a good meal with a slice of sourdough bread, and some onions in vinegar or not hot sliced onion.

I like the Portuguese sardines. The common New Brunswick sardine I do not like the texture or taste. I prefer in olive oil or even water. Sardines are probably the only healthy canned meat for regular use and they store well at room temperature.

Tuna I have eaten, but know little about it.

We catch them in the summer from the beach sometimes, but canned ones from the supermarket are only 29p :)

Having them for breakfast tomorrow :)

My dad lives in Portugal, and I love having fresh grilled sardines there. Delicious :)

Also, apple and peanut butter is a great combo (y)

have a good online source to ship in Portugal sardines. there is also two stores, of high end "healthy" products that carry them. also love smoked oysters from Oregon.

Portugal is on my list to tour, focus on foodie areas also. much research has to be done further.
