Rose from a Cutting to Roots progress

I thought I give a shot, to get a cutting, and try to replicate what all showed online. Thought I also look here for some info, 5 years back, seen nothing? Watched a few clips, how hard can it be

Day One. got a cutting, cut all stems and leaves, off, roll in toilet paper, water, and place in potting mix, water 4X a week, in 30 -days will be rooted.

Start.

30-days later July 1st an update: coming in July

We'll see if I can get it growing.

It will be good to know how you get on.
Here's a guy who does a lot of cuttings for experiments.
He uses sand or anything that's inert, not compost.
