I ordered lilacs and I received the plants in the mail that were 1.5 feet tall. The roots/dirt were wrapped in a cloth-like material. When I plant them in pots do I need to remove that wrap? If so, wont that disturb/injure the roots?
Thanks

Matt, didn’t they give you instructions with the plant? Assuming they didn’t, you can do one of two things. If it looks like burlap they are wrapped in you can leave the roots confined and plant away. If it is not burlap you can cut it away. Be sure to keep the roots moist if the soil falls off and the tree sits before going in the ground.
