So I found this plant my mom has that badly needed to be repotted. I repotted it and it certainly has perked it up a bit but it is still not thriving. Is there any hope for it? What can I do for this plant?

This appears to be a red-leaved cultivar of Cordyline cv. though it might be an unusual form of Dracaena. In either case, culture is similar. Grow in bright light and well-drained soil conditions. Water regularly, but let the soil partly dry before the next irrigation.
Fertilize occasionally with a complete, liquid fertilizer.

Your plant appears to appears to be in decent health. It is good that you repotted it. Does its new container have drainage holes?

I don’t think it does but I have another pot that does that I can repot it in. Thanks so much! I really wasn’t sure what kind of plant it is. I suspected some type of Dracaena.

Glad Marck has pointed you in the right direction. Just one thing, sometimes when a plant is that potbound it seems to get trapped in that root shape, hopefully when you re-potted you teased out a root or two to introduce it to the new soil.
