Hey - I got a polytunnel a couple years ago when I lost use of a glasshouse and I haven't been able to get pumpkins growing as big or healthy as before.
I still get pumpkins but they tend to get off shapes and not swell as big. This year I planted them on top of a big pile of manure and left them ramble around but still having the same problem, I hand pollinate to be sure and they still tend to wither off the plant. Or grow to a certain size then rot and wither.
Has anyone come across this? Is there steps in using a poly tunnel here that i'm missing? could it be humidity or excess heat in the day causing it?
