I live where 1000’s of acres of cereal crops are grown and they are sprayed at least 6 times as well @Oliver Buckle

It’s scary to think about what we are eating and many poisons / crop sprays that are banned in other parts of the world are still being used in Australia

Someday the survivors will look back at what we were doing to our food crops with amazement at the things we routinely put on our food.

Just maybe it’s the reason for the alarming rise in cancer in the younger generation in Australia
We still eat veggies / meats ….boring diet as some tell us , last week we danced at 3 different venues , ( social ballroom ) shopped / walked a dog at least 2.5 km everyday including the days we danced …..so we must be doing something right to be so able and active

We have to fill our bodies with good fuel , after all you can’t put rubbish fuel,in a car and expect it to run right …..our bodies are not much different

I turned 80 early this year , hubs is 79 and as you know we still garden in our little patch/ preserve our fruit in season.

What do you call e10 gas? Interestingly, the gas at the pump is a blend of hydrocarbons that initially weren't suitable to gas engines but were catalytically cracked into smaller pieces and then alkylated to be just right

Gas is for cooking / hot water ….E10 is Petrol ..as is 91 ( unleaded petrol )

Cars used to be run in gas at a cost of $2.000 to have it installed ….Hubs had our old caravan towing car a Holden Rodeo put on gas , but it was no cheaper to run then petrol
It was a complete waste of money

We sold that car just before Covid also sold our Caravan and went to one car

Im not even sure if gas fitting to cars is still done now days ~ with the explosion of Chinese cars as well as other electric cars taking over in Australia

It's natural to get anxious about when to harvest...no problem.

You can harvest now or wait until the tops fall over dead and no green. By waiting, the new potatoes will grow a bit more and toughen their outer skin some which aids in storage.

So, it's your choice. Or you can do both...harvest some now and the rest later when all the tops have fallen over dead.

I harvested them today, here's a pic. The issue is that it's been super rainy lately so the resulting potatoes are kinda muddy. I assume I need to wipe them off so they last longer?

Excellent harvest @someone_random

Just let them dry well before storing...don't remove the dirt until you are ready to consume them as they will keep much better with the dirt attached.

With it being rainy, you did good to harvest them and get em out of the ground.
