This is growing in my daughters garden under my granddaughters trampoline.
Is it anything to be worried about?
Thank you in advance

I believe it's a shaggy mane. I eat them, they grow in yards usually. But I strongly advise not eating it without knowing 100% for sure.

Also even if you are 100% sure that's what it is, you have to pick them young and eat them right away. Just pick it and toss it in the compost. Forget I mentioned anything about eating them lol.

A four-year-old is old enough to be taught to leave certain things be. I remember being four and my Mom telling me not to mess with various garden plants and spiders and so on.

Looks like what I call a shaggy ink cap, if it is the edge of the cap gradually turns liquid and drops off. They are edible, and nice when young, but be sure.
I am not sure if it is true or nor, but the story goes that the Bank of England used to incorporate them into their ink for five pound notes, the spores are distinctive and visible under the microscope, so as long as the secret was kept they could distinguish forgeries.
The mycelium grows on buried wood, though they often pop up in lawns and green places where you might not expect that is just an indication of how often wood gets shallowly buried in grassland.

Me that was a time to catch mom's back turned and try it.

Had to go to hospital one time. LOL
