Planting Narcissus bulbs - advice needed

I just received several bags of these and want to plant a bunch of clusters in one of our garden beds. Is now a good time to do it or should I wait? Do I need to do anything special or can I just did a hole and drop them in? I have never done this before, so any pointers are appreciated!

Thanks! Yes, that article proves very useful. I didn't realize at all that depth in planting the bulb would be an issue and I would have ended up not planting them deep enough. The weather has just really turned cold now so I am glad to not be too late in getting these into the ground.
