Hi,

My peas are about 11 weeks old now, and they've started getting pods. This might be a silly question, but the packet of seeds simply said 'peas' - am I waiting for these pods to get fat with peas to pod or do I eat them like this????

Wait for them to mature into nice big round peas for the best eating.

My guess would be they will be picking size in another two weeks. Your plants look healthy so keep doing what you have been doing and you should get rewarded.

All the pics look great, both of you.

This may be a bit of British word vs American word.

The pic that @Meadowlark posted is what I would grow and call a snap pea.

The pics that @Vicy posted are what I would grow and call a snow pea.

To me flat pods = snow, fat round pods = snap.

@Vicy, the one or two pods shown there look perfect to pull now and toss in a stir fry or dip in some hummus. If these are snow peas you risk them getting tough and stringy waiting for them to plump up.

One great thing is you'll always miss a few pods but just let them go and dry out. If you liked the pods from this year those dried pods will be the seed you need for next year.
