The stem of my passion fruit is starting to turn brown at the base and I’m not sure if this is normal. The plant is about 9 months old, and in a pot that I kept outside for the summer and have brought inside for the Midwest winter. The rest of the plant seems to be doing well still.

Greetings, welcome to the Forums.

That looks like the beginning of secondary growth and the formation of bark, but do keep an eye on it. It's always good to observe any changes with your plants, benign or otherwise. This looks like Passiflora edulis. Do you know the cultivar name?

It’s the purple passion fruit, but it hasn’t gotten any fruit yet. I read it can take over a year to develop the first ones. I had a few flowers over the summer but they fell off

The plant seems healthy. Being grown outdoors in warm weather will be a benefit to it.
