I know there are well over a thousand palms. Palms do add glamour to a garden. I have a few of them. I have the coconut palms which yield. Then there are the royal palms that add height to my garden. The palmate which has broad leaves is just there in the corner of our garden and I notice red berries on it. The ficus palm adds dignity to any garden. I have a number of them spread all over. They get suckers and I just pull them out and plant them elsewhere or just discard them. My cane palms just proliferate. They give out inflorescence and later seeds. Cane palms have suckers and their seeds germinate all over the garden. I have a problem containing them. But they are beautiful.
