Hi,

I've just been reading this;

https://www.ilivehere.co.uk/huddersfield-not-such-a-brilliant-place-to-live.html

I've lived in Huddersfield for 42 years and here in Fenay Bridge for the last 31 years. Bron and I never ever visit Huddersfield Town Center; driving a car into town is just asking for trouble in fact Kirklees the local council appear to hate and detest car drivers to the point of installing "bus gates" to further close the town down; well they can have it because for us the damage is already done and whatever changes are made in future Huddersfield Town isn't on our places to visit. I can only express my views having read daily about how bad Huddersfield Town really is; we simply don't visit.

https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/news/seven-people-getting-bus-gates-13629981

Of course congestion is being reduced because after being fined £60 it's one less car to visit Huddersfield again; busses obviously don't add to congestion at all?

https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/news...ld-grooming-gang-defendants-profiles-15295249

Just one example of what Huddersfield is like seen above and these are the ones caught; it's getting worse daily.

Potholes; bus lanes; cycle lanes; endless red traffic lights; traffic calming; speed cameras and usually dire climate all add the the fun. Bron and I have said many times we should have found a better place to live when we married possibly out in the country away from most of the trouble.

Just rambling on until daylight arrives then I'll head into the workshop. :)

Kind regards, Colin.

Hi,

Thanks DirtMechanic. (y)

What kind of world do we now live in when police and authorities no longer have the power or resources to look after the innocent? Every day more and more illegal acts are being carried out;

https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/news/west-yorkshire-news/tragedy-scrooges-cut-down-village-15600277

Half a mile from us our village Christmas tree was attacked and even though there are bungalows directly across the street it's strange no one saw this happening?

https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/news...villagers-lives-blighted-vandals-who-15613735

These are the low end of the scale; we now also have many murders.

Fortunately the area we live in is still pretty good apart from one family who live next door with police recorded beatings; burglary; car theft and drugs. Oh um such is life these days.

Kind regards, Colin.

Hi,

Thanks for your interest and for the question CanadianLori. :)(y)

In short a person who would be better buried in landfill away from decent society?

Above are just a few reports lifted at random from our local paper website; it never lets up. A few years ago a radio forum member asked if I would collect a quantity of valves (tubes) for him from Huddersfield to which I agreed; the seller was to contact me with collection details. 11pm our phone rang and it was a young lady wanting to arrange collection of the valves by me; as soon as she mentioned her street (Alder Street) I declined to collect them; a young lady phoning me from the notorious red light district in Huddersfield at 11pm didn't go down well with me at all; I could just imagine cruising the street looking for the house number and being pulled over by the police?

Kind regards, Colin.

@Colin I understand our State of Washington is to begin composting bodies. Perhaps this information might serve you? I enjoy projects where even the less fortunate can serve mankind.

Hi,

What a great idea DirtMechanic. (y)

Can we please start with all the low life in Huddersfield; those who think so little of themself and are just a menace to decent society? :)

I used to live in a village called Middlestown and often wondered if standing the dead in the bus shelter would make the place more interesting.

I'm usually polite and caring but despair when a druggie shoplifter is given another chance after being in court for 274 times yes it does happen locally; composting in such a situation would benefit the whole community.

Kind regards, Colin.

Unfortunately Colin, it is mankind’s nature to be evil. No one has ever had to teach their small child to be naughty. Evil is an intricate part of every human the day they are born. We have learned through the ages to curb this part of our psyche and behave in a manner that is conducive to the advancement of our species. Unfortunately this advancement has removed many of the roadblocks that caused problems in the past. This has lead to a generation of people that are unable to shoulder responsibility. The result of this is that these people abdicate their responsibility as parents. In most Western countries the government is only too happy to step in and act as a surrogate parent through the educational system. They teach loyalty to the state or party and political correctness to the exclusion of good behavior. Under this mantra you must never correct bad behavior because it may diminish the child’s self esteem. The result of this type of leadership can be seen in our jails, mental institutions and even in most neighborhoods.

Thanks for link. In my day, they were called hoodlums. The only thing different seems to be the style of dress.

We cannot actually get to my old home town. The only way in is via a toll bridge which has to be paid for over a mobile phone. We do not have one of those.

About composting bodies--during the American Civil War, many battlefield killed soldiers were taken home for burial. Unfortunately, a deadly poison, arsenic, was used in the embalming process. Since the soldiers were buried in coffins, usually simple wooden ones, as the coffins and bodies decomposed the arsenic entered the ground water (this is not an ad for bottled water, although it does make me think) and people downstream of the cemeteries became deathly ill and died. It took years for scientists to figure out what was happening.
I'm all for cremation. I've seen what ashes can do for my roses!
