It has been years since synthetic fertilizers have been an option. Is there any impact to human health to apply synthetics to vegetable gardens?

I love the texture of unaltered soil. You know it is going to ge good for the fruit and veggies.

Soil lovers come in all forms. 20 years ago I found myself at a tourist spot along a stream or creek in Costa Rica that was warmed by a nearby volcano. A number of people were covered head to toe in the sulphurous mud and were socializing over umbrella drinks. That image will never leave my memory.
