No zucchini...

And we figured out why. We have 4 plants and 2 are huge plenty of blossoms. But so far only one zucchini harvested. Earlier this week I saw 5 on a plant and figured the plants were just late producers due to weather.

Yesterday I went to find them and nothing. But, our 4 legged garden companion had joined me while picking and she found something.

A rabbit nest. So we're thinking the furry critters have been eating the baby zucchini before e can get them.

I haven't experienced that but a quick check with AI says yes, they do indeed enjoy the young baby zucchini.

The good news is that zucchini is capable of producing enough for all.

I'm ok with just a few a year but this is ridiculous.

There is a movie called "Phenomenon" with John Travolta. He had a rabbit getting into his garden so he put up a fence. luckily in the movie he became a genius. It was only after he became a genius that he figured out that he had fenced a rabbit inside his garden.

Our fencing is primarily to keep the dogs out of the garden. The dogs are supposed to keep the rabbits out of the yard.
