I want to plant grass / a lawn that needs no cutting (or very little) that I can put a table and chairs on and walk on it. About 30 Sq metres. Any suggestions please. Thanks

Welcome! 🤠

Check out white clover...improve your soil while it grows.

Dichondra grows in the US from zone 7b southwardand only gets around 2" tall BUT, it isn't fun keeping weeds out of it. I don know if it grows in your zone in the UK.

You can get grass growth inhibitors that mean you don't have to cut so frequently. They are expensive though, and applying that sort of chemical doesn't appeal to me. Probably cheaper to get someone to cut it for you, or buy a rechargeable automatic mower. Meadowlark's idea of white clover is good, but don't go barefoot on it, bees love it and don't like being trodden on.
Argos £300 https://www.argos.co.uk/product/341...M6Rqvaf4Ep45tECCnShoCA6EQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds but you still need to trim the edges. Fully auto is over a grand.

This is true o_O walking on clover barefoot isn't advised.... but having all those pollinators around is well worth it to me.

Each year I watch the white clover spread in my yard. I never mow it but also never seed it. It just comes back every year and spreads slowly.

If you want a full 30 sq meters of it, I suggest seeding it heavily and not doing the "wait until Nature takes its course" like I do with white clover.

The only non-maintenance lawn I know of that never needs mowing or weeding is plastic grass known as artificial turf. If you find a natural lawn grass that never needs mowing, please let me know because I want some seeds or stolons to sell and make a fortune. Good luck friend.
