Need Help Identifying

I brought my rosemary plant in to try to keep it a little longer. Went on vacation and this is what I found when I got home. We do have squirrel's and our neighbor has a walnut tree. Passed that I have no idea.

It might be a Walnut, need the leaves to mature a bit more first though :)

Not sure about American Elms Beth, but UK ones don't produce seed, they grow from suckers.

Hence the decimation of the Elm disease, no genetic diversity.

Do see what you mean by the look of the leaf though :)

Does that mean you are thinking it's not a weed? I was afraid you were going to tell me it was a weed ...lol...and I was going to be very embarrassed for babying a weed on my kitchen counter

No, he do look like a tree or shrub :) Nothing wrong with growing a weed anyway, all plants are weeds if they're growing in the wrong place, grass is a weed in a rose bed, and roses are weeds in a lawn :)
