These are a heritage tall pea that came to light again during the filming of the Victorian Kitchen Garden series back in the 80's

Someone donated a bag found in a shed to the project.

I've been growing them on for a few years, but was concerned last year as the slugs ate all but one plant.

Looks like they were self fertile though :)

I've not tried them yet, just increasing the seed stock.

Meant to be the best, the name means something like go no further :)

They grow over 6 feet tall, no good for a modern picking machine that can only pick the 4 foot high rows.

Gosh they're big! Such pretty flowers on such a fierce looking plant. You should totally stick some googly eyes on Owcho :LOL:
