Hello,

I am new to gardening. I started a garden the end of April in Virginia. I bought my plants locally. This plant was supposed be a Bonnie, Crimson Sweet watermelon, but I have a hard time believing it is a watermelon plant because it is clearly not a vine. It has been planted a little under two months and still no buds or vegetables growing. The suspense is killing me. Can someone please identify what I have here.

Thanks,
Austin

It's for sure no melon I'm familiar with.

Sometimes stuff gets mislabeled. Where did you buy it? I'd call or visit the seller first off.

I can positively say it ain't melon, it ain't corn, it ain't okra and it sure as hell isn't pot. It is one of those mystery's that plague us gardeners from time to time and only a little patience will reward us with the answer.

It most certainly isn't a melon, it could never handle the weight of a melon. It looks like nothing I am familiar with, I think you are going to have to what it out and see what it is.

I also don't think it is melon, and like you said, melon is more of a vine crawling than shooting straight upward. It would be interesting to find out :)
