So, yeah. What the title says. A little info on the Coral cactus: its a graft between something and something, no idea what either plant really is. I made a post about this fella in the ID section.

Anyway, to the point, it has a sprout from the stem plant. Im 99% sure that its sprouting another of whatever the stem is. It originally had 2 sprouts, but I accidentally knocked one off while watering it. The remaining one has frown tremendously fast, it was about an inch long a couple weeks ago, the largest leaf is now 8 inches long. I want to know if I can seperate the sprout without killing it, I want to grow it for me myself and I. If I cant, I want to know if i can just leave it without any harm to the plant.
Thanks in advance.

Very interesting. It appears to be the rootstock beginning to grow. You can cut it off or let it grow for fun. Very cute

Wow, that pic with the huge growth....mine has little sprouts, and after seeing how big they get, I want to cut mine off now. It never had these sprouts for the 4 years I've had it, and now all of a sudden they're growing.

The base is Oleander Spurge (Euphorbia neriifolia), the scion is a crested form of Euphorbia lactea 'White Ghost'. Popular wisdom says that letting a rootstock grow will sap strength from the scion, but in this case, the rootstock is also the main driver of photosynthesis, having a larger green base/rootstock probably means there is more sugar to go around for the beautiful, but mostly parasitic, white scion crest.

If you don't remove the sucker it will take over and the crested part will die. There is just enough green photosynthetic tissue to keep the crest alive. The crested part on the plant with the neriifolia grown out is dead and dry. It is now only neriifolia.
