Hi all,

Recently I got a Calathea rufibarba - Velvet Calathea (https://hortology.co.uk/products/calathea-rufibarba-velvet-calathea-house-plants) from a friend as a gift. Since the first day, it didn't feel well. The foliage doesn't look healthy, when I touch it, it feels weak. Now, it's going yellow. I have no idea what has gone wrong. Please see some pictures attached.

I'm watering it once per week. We keep the plant inside with moderate lighting (no direct sunshine).

Thanks,
Moh.

I have not kept this genus yet, but Calatheas tend to need rather high humidity to do well. I'd recommend waiting for more experienced houseplant keepers to come along before rushing out to get a humidity tray, though.
