Hi everyone,

As the titles mentions, I moved to a different climate, more specific to Northern of Germany.

I am looking guidance for my indoor plants, as in the past few months, I was unable to keep my plants alive :(

My doubts are:
- Huge portion of the time here we have grey skies. I don't have tons of sunlight like southern countries, I do have several windows though.
- Winter time outside but inside we have heating system, we have a very comfortable room temperature, is that bad for plants? will they dry quickly?

A) For my snake plant, I have no idea how much water I should give her during winter. Does the soil look weird, or is it fine?

B) For my weeping fig, I have the same question: how much water should I provide during winter? Do I need to apply fertilizer, and if so, how much?

C) For my Dragon tree, I have the same question: how much water should I provide during winter? Do I need to apply fertilizer, and if so, how much?

D) Does my Aloe Vera looks odd? Dirt is fine like this?

Thank you so much, everyone. I’m really sorry for being so clueless, but I truly love plants and just don’t know how to care for them properly. Since I moved, I’ve already lost one Dragon Tree and one Money Tree.

Just use a humidity tester and keep soil the way particular plants prefer. It's not usually a good idea to fertilize during the winter, specially high nitrogen ferts. Some bonemeal, gypsum or even a light dusting of hardwood ashes might help stabilize things somewhat. As for lack of sunshine you may have to resort to some type of grow lights for the winter as plants slowly acclimatize to new conditions.

Your plants are all low- light plants so, they only need indirect light. If the heat dries out the air you can set the plants on trays with pebbles and water, keep the water full in the trays and that will provide some humidity for the plants. Also you can mist them well with water three times a day to add moisture to the leaves.

Water as usual letting the top inch of soil get dry before adding more water. Water so the water runs out the bottom, not little frequent waterings, one good soak then let them dry again.

If there aren enough bright windows you can buy grow lights for them.
